Matched by Ally Condie

After reading The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collin and Divergent and Insurgent by Veronica Roth, I was looking for another great dystopian story to enjoy. I came across Matched by Ally Condie in our library with the newer books. Thank goodness I did! On the night of their Matched Banquet, Cassia sees the face of her match, Xander. That her best friend's face appeared was no surprise to her...but then another face flashed across the screen. She is now faced with more choices than she's ever known. She must make a choice on which path to take...Look for the rest of this trilogy, Crossed and Reached, both by Ally Condie.
I'm not normally a big fan of the most recent Stephen King books but I felt pulled to read this book for some reason. Maybe because it was about JFK and I've been on a historical fiction kick since reading Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys. Whatever the reason, I just had to read it and am so glad I did. I took me a while to read since it was over 800 pages but worth every minute. Jake Epping learns of a way to go back in time and is given the chance to change history. It is possible he could stop the assassination of John F Kennedy and change the world as we know it. While living in 1963, waiting for November 22nd, he falls in love with the times and, of course, a woman. He also learns how one small change effects everything else, the butterfly effect. What will he decide to do?

Delirium by Lauren Oliver

What an amazing read!  Thanks to my 2 year old, my reading has slowed down tremendously but I managed to finish this book in record time.  I seriously could not put it down!  It is a 2012 TAYSHAS book and one I recommend you start reading immediately.
In 95 days, Lena will be saved.  She will receive the cure for amor deliria nervosa, the disease that will infect you and ruin your life if you are not careful.  She has always looked forward to that day, believing everything she was told by society.  Then she meets Alex, the beautiful young man who has secrets of his own.  He shows her what love really is and challenges her to question everything she has ever been told.
